Adoption Programs for Seniors & Military Members

Pet Adoption Information for Seniors

In an effort to provide exceptional customer service, OC Animal Care offers its Senior For Senior program. The program provides a discounted adoption rate for senior citizens, 60 years and older, that adopt any animal 5 years of age or older.  In addition, licensing fees are also reduced for senior citizens, 60 years and older.  There is a limit of three discounted Senior License per household.

There are many advantages to adopting from your local animal shelter, but adopting an older pet may be even more rewarding. Homeless animals over 5 years of age that come to OC Animal Care are more difficult to place despite the fact that many endure the stresses of a shelter environment much better than their younger shelter mates. Many adult animals have received some obedience and/or potty training and are generally more calm and affectionate.

There are also proven benefits of pet ownership. Pets can lower our blood pressure and anxiety, pets alleviate depression and help us cope with stress, and pets enrich our lives by offering unconditional love!

Pet Adoption Information for Current & Retired Military Members

OC Animal Care is proud to offer adoption discounts to active or retired members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard. For more information, please call our main information line at 714-935-6848.

Cats and dogs are adopted into homes and Veterans gain the love and companionship that pets bring. According to the Centers for Disease Control, owning a pet can have measurable medical benefits. Studies show that it can significantly lower feelings of loneliness while increasing opportunities for exercise and socialization.

In addition to daily discounts offered to Veterans, OC Animal Care has also joined forces with the non-profit organization Animals for Armed Forces. Their fundraising efforts make our Memorial Day and Veteran's Day FREE adoption events possible. Visit www.animalsforarmedforces.org for more information or to donate.
